Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)

Giving Kids a Voice

Every child should have the ability to say hello, goodbye, I love you, and so much more. At EBS Clubhouse, we give kids that power by helping families find the right method of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) that works for them. For some, it’s a sign language system, or a communication board, and for others it’s a sophisticated tablet based system that produces a voice. No two children are alike, and therefore, no one system fits all.

Whether your child has limited verbal ability or doesn’t speak at all, exploring AAC gives them another way to access speech. It doesn’t mean that your family is giving up on the idea that your child will speak. Think of it as a way to give your child a way to communicate his wants, needs, ideas, feelings, and let him know that what he has to say is important.
